CGC DT Post – Challenge #169

Hello crafty friends!

I really can’t believe that it is July already! This year has flown over! Anyway…it is time for yet another challenge at the Crafty Girls Corner! This time the theme is: “Red, white and blue” – influenced by Independence Day in the USA, but you don’t necessarily have to follow the patriotic theme if you don’t want to. I decided to go with a different theme to hopefully give some inspiration to people who may want to take a different route! 🙂

As per usual the challenge is sponsored by 3 super amazing sponsors!

Prize ~ $15 Gift Certificate

Star Stampz

Prize ~ 3 Digital Images

For this challenge I used Alice Chibi by Star Stampz! Isn’t this digi super cute?!!!I just love it!I love Alice in Wonderland and I love Steampunk…so naturally I fell in love with the end result (although I was super tired when I finished the card after a long day and after midnight!)…Anyway, to create this card I used Derwent Inktense pencils to color the image and Tim Holtz Distress Oxides for the background and sentiment banner. For stamping I used: MFT- Typewriter text, Doo-Lally Pip -Steamed Up, Doo-Lally Pip – Time Travel and MFT – Our Story. The die cutting was made using Sizzix – Thinlits 661184 (Tim Holtz Alterations) and unbranded Oval dies.

CGC DT Post – Challenge #168

Hello my friends!

June is almost gone!Where did the time go?!!!…Honestly at times I feel it goes too fast…anyway it is Wednesday again and that means…a new Crafty Girls Corner challenge! This week’s theme is super simple and easy: ANYTHING GOES! And we have THREE amazingly generous sponsors that will provide you with great prizes!

Twinkle Lane Designs

Prize ~ 2 Digital Images & 2 Coordinating Digital Paper Sets

Prize ~ The 3 Digital Images used by the DT

Ike’s Art

Prize ~ $15 Gift Certificate

For this challenge I used Ike’s Art – Blossom digital stamp …only I did so in an unusual way! I really wanted to use my watercolors and since my printer can’t handle thick paper I decided to trace the image using a light box! Then I colored the image using Prima Watercolor Confections…I admit I am in love with these colors and I am in heaven when I mix them up! Once the image was totally dry I used MFT-Deepest Sympathy stamp set and heat embossed the sentiment in black. To finish off my card I mounted the panel on black cardstock and then attached that on my actual card. Simple but beautiful (at least in my eyes!)!

With this card I entered the following challenges:

Many thanks for taking the time to leave me a comment.

CGC DT Post – Challenge #165

Hello lovely souls!

Wednesday is here and it is time for another fun challenge at the Crafty Girls Corner! This week the theme is “Add a flower” and you have a chance to win a great prize from our amazing sponsor :

$10 Gift Certificate

MoonFlower Digistamps

For this week’s challenge I used Gina Frankenstein Bride digital stamp by MoonFlower Digistamps and inspired by this amazing image I decided to create an art journal page instead of a card that I normally do.

You know, how we try our best to fit in all the roles that ourselves and others place upon us? Well, I thought that this image had a liberating message for us…saying “Look, girl, you don’t have to stress! You don’t need to fit in!Just be yourself and carry your imperfections proudly…you are perfect just the way you are!”

I colored the image using Copic markers. The background is a mixed media page that I created using white gesso, homemade stencils and dylusions paints. The stamps are Create a Smile – Botanical love and Dylusions – Doodle parts. I stamped using Versafine Onyx Black Ink. Due to the rough texture of the background the stamping is obviously imperfect but I find that it enhances the meaning of the page.

With this page I joined the following challenges:

Thank you all for stopping by!Have a beautiful week! And looking forward to seeing you again soon!

Hello lovelies!

I’m back for our usual Wednesday date! It’s time for another Crafty Girls Corner! This week’s theme is: “Use Buttons“! I’m not a big embellishment type of crafter so for me it was a challenge by itself…looking all over the house for a cute spare button..lol!

Our awesome sponsor this week are:

Digi Stamps 4 Joy

Prize ~ $10 Gift Certificate

Creative Bug

Prize ~ 5 Digital images

Rick St. Dennis

Prize ~ 2 Digital images

For this challenge I used Isabella Sunny Days by Rick St. Dennis! Sooo super sweet image! As per usual I colored it using my Copic Markers and framed it using a non-branded die-cut. For the background I used a brick-wall style embossing folder and colored it with Distress Inks in red and earthy colors. For the sentiment I used Avery Elle – Simple Hugs die. And for the needs of the challenge I added a button I found in the house and attached it using thin twine – because I wanted to keep an earthy tone for the theme of my card. I don’t know why but, to me, this card feels like a sunny afternoon in a cottage house! And how cute is this little cat?! 🙂

With this card I entered the following challenges. Feel free to hop along and join the fun!

Thank you all for stopping by!Wishing you a wonderful day and hope to see you again soon 🙂
