Prize ~ $10 Gift Certificate

Fred, She Said Digital Designs

Prize ~ $10 Gift Certificate

Bugaboo Stamps

Prize ~ $12 Gift Certificate

For this particular challenge I used Big Eye Party Girl & Cat by Odd Ball Art. Because I wanted to make her fly to match my sentiment I decided to leave the cat out of the image and add some extra balloons!I coloured her using Copic Markers. The background was made using Distress Oxides and a cloud stencil that I made myself. The sentiment is from MFT-Up in the air stamp set. The idea behind this card is to challenge myself to create something nice looking with limited supplies. And I do encourage you to try it too! If you don’t have the perfect stamp for something or the patterned paper you would like or the right stencil for the task…try to see what you can do with what you got!You will be pleasantly surprised!

With this card I’m entering the following challenges:

On second thought I decided to add the little kitty in the scene, so this is my card after editing.Click here to see the original digital image as well if you are interested in buying it. 🙂

Ike’s Art

Prize ~ $15 Gift Certificate

For this week’s challenge I used Meowloween by Ike’s Art. I coloured the image using Copic Markers and then I fussy cut it and added it on my other card layers. The basic layer was created using Distress Oxides and stencils :Tim Holtz-Clockwork Layering Stencil, Create a Smile – Lots of Stars, The Crafters Workshop -Mini Time Travel. For the middle layer I used normal black cardstock and a wood-themed generic embossing folder. The top layer was made out of black cardstock, using Avery Elle – Merriest stamp set and Spiced Pumpkin Distress Oxide ink. Easy and fun!

CGC DT Post – Challenge #176

Hello crafty souls!

I don’t know about you but I totally enjoy this season…not too hot, not too cold…and full of beautiful colors! I just love it! Anyway…as you all have guessed by now, it is time for another Crafty Gals Corner Challenge and this week we are asked to do a “Fancy Fold” card! As per usual we have an amazing and super generous sponsor too.

The Paper Shelter

Prize: $15 Gift Certificate

I haven’t done a fancy fold card in a while…and I couldn’t be bothered with complicated measurements…so I decided to do it my way….I extended the card so that the image became a folding edge!Hope you like it!

The image is by The Paper Shelter and it is called “Follow the Stars“.I colored her using Copics and then I added some sparkling accents with a gel pen but the camera didn’t pick them up. 🙁 I used Distress Oxide inks to create the night sky and the snow ground and a combo of Distress Oxides and Copics for the tree. The sentiment on the diecut circle is from Holly Jolly Sentiments stamp set by C.C.Designs. And the sentiment inside the card is from MFT- Joyous Christmas Sentiments. Who said that fancy fold cards need to be super complex? 🙂

With this card I’m entering the following challenges:

In line with new Data Protection legislation (GDPR) by commenting you do so in the knowledge that your name and comment are visible to all who visit this blog and thereby consent to the use of that personal information for that specific purpose.

CGC DT Post – Challenge #175

Hello beautiful crafty friends!

I’m so excited that the weather has started cooling down and the leaves have started changing colors and finally it feels like autumn again! Yey! I still can’t believe that time goes so fast but….I’m excited anyway! And speaking about time…guess what? There is a new challenge up at the Crafty Gals Corner! The theme is Anything Fall Goes and we have 3 amazing sponsors for this challenge!

Prize ~ 3 Digital Images

Prize ~ 1 Image Pack

Prize ~ 1 digital image

Since we are getting really close to October…you may have noticed that people have started getting ready for Halloween! I come from a background where we don’t celebrate this holiday but having been living in the UK for quite a few years now, I am used to this tradition and kind of looking forward to it. However, we don’t really exchange Halloween cards so I thought to use my stamp in  a different way that is fun, creative but also practical! So I used the Little Witch by Fabrika Fantasy to create the front page of my bullet journal layout for October….and I have to admit I really love it!Don’t get me wrong I really enjoy making cards, but I am an advocate for using your supplies as much as possible, in many different ways …after all we are supposed to be creators, not mere consumers, right? So yes….get inspired by your supplies and get crafty.

Bullet journals are an awesome way to be creative and practical at the same time! Personally I love that I get to actually see my creation on a daily basis rather than having it tucked away in  a box or a drawer. At the same time I create something visually pleasing that motivates me to go back to my journal, which in turn helps me stay organized and focused and therefore more productive. (It’s a Win/Win situation!)And if you are like me and you can draw a little bit but you don’t feel that this is your strong point….stamps are your friends!

Anyway…without further ado..this is my project for this challenge!Apart from this Little Witch digi stamp, which I colored using Copic Markers, I used an Old English Lettering stencil to write my title and watercolors to paint the moon and the little details. All the rest were hand-drawn using a Pigma-Micron black pen (any waterproof pen would do) and the calendar was stamped using a generic calendar stampset.

And because I am all about helping eachother and respecting other people’s creations, I want to do a little shout-out to “My Inner Creative” for inspiring me to create this witchy-themed page. (Honestly, the Harry Potter layouts on this blog are mind-blowing!)

With this project I am going to join the following challenges. Feel free to have a look at these beautiful challenge blogs and join the fun!

CGC DT Post – Challenge #174

Hello crafty friends! Can you believe that it is September already?! Crazy, right?!Where did the time go???? Anyway I’m kind of happy that it is autumn… it’s getting a bit cooler and I’m almost ready for sweaters, books and hot coffee! And talking about cooler weather…today I have a Christmas card to share with you…but let’s take things from the beginning, shall we?

It is Wednesday and that means that there is a new challenge at the Crafty Gals Corner. This week the theme is “ 3+ layers” and as per usual we have some awesome sponsors that have some great prizes for you!

Digital Delights by Louby Loo

Prize: $5 Gift Certificate

Prize: 2 Digital Images

Bugaboo Stamps

Prize: $12 Gift Certificate

For this challenge I used the “Fall Dog” by Digital Delights! This image could obviously make a lovely Fall-themed card but… me being me…I decided to use it to create a Christmas card because…why not?!

I colored the image using Copic markers (and some of them are running out of ink but I love their vibrancy so I decided to stick with them anyway!)…the background is made by simple black cardstock and a silver Sharpie marker. And the sentiment is by C C Designs – Holly Jolly Sentiments. This design is very versatile and allows for many embellishments like: twine, ribbon or strass stones etc… but I love simplicity and I decided to keep mine plain. After all, the image itself is super cute and I didn’t want to take away from it! Hope you like it too!

With this card I’m going to enter the following challenges:

For this week’s challenge I used a digi called Penguin Umbrella by Lemon Shortbread. I coroured him using Copic Markers and a white gel pen. For the background I used Sunny Borders stamps by Sunny Studio and Plaid Background Builder by My Favorite Things. I coloured these using Tombow markers, but you could really use pretty much anything. Then I die cut the star out of scrap patterned paper and heat embossed the sentiment which I stamped using Joyous Christmas Sentiments by MFT. And …voilà!

With this card I joined the following challenges:

CGC DT Post – Challenge #172

Hello crafty friends!

Hope you are having a lovely summer!…I can’t believe how hot it is here! (I never thought I would say that for an English summer but…little did I know!). Anyway…without further ado, it is time for another Crafty Girls Corner Challenge! This week’s theme is: “Add a Ribbon/Bow” and, as per usual, you get a chance to win amazing prizes from our super generous sponsors!

The Paper Nest Dolls

Prize ~ The 3 Digital Images used by DT

Prize ~ $10 Gift Certificate

Prize ~ 3 Digital Images

Since  August is a wedding season for many and the theme required a ribbon/bow embellishment, I thought to create a wedding card! I used a digital stamp called “Bride 2” by Morgan’s Art World which I colored using Copic markers. To me, this image has a romantic vibe so I kept the color palette relatively pastel and natural. And I really like how it turned out. Then I created a background stamping repeatedly with the Indigo Blu – Script stamp and Distress Inks in Worn Lipstick and Spun Sugar tones. I added a ribbon in a similar pink color and then I assembled my card. Simple but effective! I didn’t add a sentiment so that I have more options when I decide to use this card (ie personalize it later or use it for a “on your wedding day” occassion or even as a “congratulations on your wedding” card).
Do you ever leave your cards without a sentiment so you can tweak them later, if you don’t currently have a use for them?

CGC DT Post – Challenge #171

Hello crafty friends!

Happy August!Unbelievable right?!It’s the last month of the summer already!!!Where did the time go?Does anyone else feel that this year is going too fast???

Anyway…as you may have guessed it, it is time for yet another Crafty Girls Corner challenge and the theme is super easy again : TROPICAL COLOURS! Fits the summer mood perfectly, don’t you think?!

And for this challenge our amazing sponsors are:

Prize: 3 Digital Images

Prize: 2 Digital Images

Prize ~ 5 Digital images

This time I created a card using Birthday Cocktail by SheepSki Designs. Such a perfect digi for hot days like these! (It’s been unusually hot lately here in the UK!) I coloured my image using Inktense Percils. Then I die cut this and another panel using unbranded oval-shaped dies. I coloured the second panel pink using Distress Oxides. For the background I lined up on my stamping platform a few sentiments from Newton’s Nook- Cocktail Mixer stamp set and stamped it several times using Hero Arts Inks in various colours. My intention was to create a happy, colourful background to add some interest to my card but also make the main image pop. The main sentiment is from the “All Occasion Sentiments” stamp set by MFT. (Honestly this is one of my most used sets, sooo versatile!) Then because I was feeling that there was something missing from my card, I added a flower from Altenew – Garden Treasure stamp set which I coloured using Prima Marketing Confections Watercolours (Tropicals). Obviously you don’t need so many different mediums for this card…but I like playing with different supplies since I have them (they are no good in the drawers, you know!). Hope you like the outcome and you feel motivated to use all these supplies you always wish to use but never do! 🙂

With this card I’m going to enter the following challenges:

Hello crafty friends!

I really can’t believe that it is July already! This year has flown over! Anyway…it is time for yet another challenge at the Crafty Girls Corner! This time the theme is: “Red, white and blue” – influenced by Independence Day in the USA, but you don’t necessarily have to follow the patriotic theme if you don’t want to. I decided to go with a different theme to hopefully give some inspiration to people who may want to take a different route! 🙂

As per usual the challenge is sponsored by 3 super amazing sponsors!
