Pansy Sprite!

Hello everybody!

Today I am super excited! I have heard loads about the ZIG clean color real brushes and I was toying with the idea of getting some to try for a very long time. But like many other people out there, my budget was limited …however Amazon.co.uk is having a fantastic offer lately…so I decided to go for them now since they are almost half price!!!! And guess what???They arrived today!!!I have to admit after trying them I am over the moon with this purchase. The colors are fantastic and they really blend nicely even if you don’t have the best paper – which to me is a huge plus as quite often I don’t have the paper I would have liked to use.Anyway…to prove my point the image I have used today is printed on 100gsm printer paper (!) and colored with ZIGs and COPICs. Keep in mind that I’m still new to coloring and I have never had any art lessons, just what I read about techniques and watch on Youtube videos. (By the way, I would like to say a huge THANK YOU to all these people that make these amazing videos and take the time to share their techniques!).

Quick Instructions:

To create this card, I printed out PANSY SPRITE freebie which I got from Aurora Wings Challenge blog (Thank you for the image, it’s super cute!). I colored the skin and green  parts with Copics and the orange parts with ZIGs. I fussy cut the image and traced its outline with a black Sharpie. I doodled lines accross the whole panel with a Tombow marker. Then I die cut a circle out of a nice patterned paper. I cut a stripe of black cardstock and diecut the sentiment. (I kept the diecut for another card and used the negative space and the tiny left overs on this card). Then I die cut the sentiment again out of white cardstock this time. At this point, all that was remaining to be done was to stick everything down. I started with the negative diecut, then the white diecut sentiment, then the little black left overs. Next I adhered the image (making sure not to glue the flower down yet). Last I adhered the circle using double sided tape and I glued the flower on top of it. I cut out the excess of the circle that was sticking out of the panel…and my card was ready! 🙂
