Pansy Sprite!

Hello everybody!

Today I am super excited! I have heard loads about the ZIG clean color real brushes and I was toying with the idea of getting some to try for a very long time. But like many other people out there, my budget was limited …however Amazon.co.uk is having a fantastic offer lately…so I decided to go for them now since they are almost half price!!!! And guess what???They arrived today!!!I have to admit after trying them I am over the moon with this purchase. The colors are fantastic and they really blend nicely even if you don’t have the best paper – which to me is a huge plus as quite often I don’t have the paper I would have liked to use.Anyway…to prove my point the image I have used today is printed on 100gsm printer paper (!) and colored with ZIGs and COPICs. Keep in mind that I’m still new to coloring and I have never had any art lessons, just what I read about techniques and watch on Youtube videos. (By the way, I would like to say a huge THANK YOU to all these people that make these amazing videos and take the time to share their techniques!).

Quick Instructions:

To create this card, I printed out PANSY SPRITE freebie which I got from Aurora Wings Challenge blog (Thank you for the image, it’s super cute!). I colored the skin and greenΒ  parts with Copics and the orange parts with ZIGs. I fussy cut the image and traced its outline with a black Sharpie. I doodled lines accross the whole panel with a Tombow marker. Then I die cut a circle out of a nice patterned paper. I cut a stripe of black cardstock and diecut the sentiment. (I kept the diecut for another card and used the negative space and the tiny left overs on this card). Then I die cut the sentiment again out of white cardstock this time. At this point, all that was remaining to be done was to stick everything down. I started with the negative diecut, then the white diecut sentiment, then the little black left overs. Next I adhered the image (making sure not to glue the flower down yet). Last I adhered the circle using double sided tape and I glued the flower on top of it. I cut out the excess of the circle that was sticking out of the panel…and my card was ready! πŸ™‚

Green leaves!

Hello my crafty friends!

In honor of St.Patrick’s day on 17th March, I decided to create a thank you card. I challenged myself to use limited supplies and try to keep the design CAS. I think it turned out quite well! What do you think?

Quick Instructions:

Creating this card was pretty simple! I masked the 2 sides of the card and stamped the leaves in a way that they didn’t look too repetitive (partly masking some off to show as if they overlapped). Then I used Inktense pencils to color them, trying to vary the shades abit to create some interest. Then I went over them with my Wink of Stella pen to add some shimmer. I stamped the sentiment slightly off the center and then I traced the lines of the masking tape with a black Tombow marker. All done!

Supplies used:

  • Kraft Cardstock paper – white
  • Archival Ink Jet Black
  • Derwent – Inktense Pencils: Felt green, Apple green, Iron green, Beech green
  • Crafters Companion – Autumn Blessings stamp set
  • Paper trimmer
  • Waterbrush
  • Mini blending tool
  • Black Tombow dual brush pen
  • ZIG- Wink of Stella clear glitter brush pen
  • Masking tape

With this project I entered the challenges listed below. If you have some time, I recommend you visit these blogs as they are packed with fabulous projects!

For a surprise party!

Hello my friends!

Sorry I haven’t posted anything for a few days…work and everyday stuff kind of kept me busy…I bet you all know the feeling! However, the little one had to go to a surprise birthday party so I grabbed the opportunity to get abit crafty! Hopefully the little boy will like his card! πŸ™‚

Quick Instructions:

For this card, I stamped these super funny Crazy Birds (Tim Holtz-Stampers Anonymous) on a white cardstock and colored them using my Inktense pencils. I fussy cut them, trace their outline with a black Sharpie and left them aside. I then masked the bottom of the panel and I used Distress inks and a blending tool to create the background on which I then made some water splatters to create the watercolored effect. (Love doing this!). Next I cut a stripe of black cardstock and I die cut the sentiment out of the same paper. I used my Wink of Stella to add some sparkle to them. When everything was ready, I stamped the birds on the panel where I wanted them to be (since I cut off their legs during fussy cutting!) and then I adhered the cut outs on top of them using double sided tape. I did the same with the balloon and the gift box. I stuck down the black stripe and the die cuts using a glue pen. And since it is going to be a surprise party I thought to stamp the word surprise and doodle abit to make the card more customised. And then …I decided to add more sparkle !So I added abit of Wink of Stella all over the white part of the card and over the word ‘surprise’. And I called it done!!!

Supplies used:

  • Kraft Cardstock paper – white
  • The Works -Black craft card 200gsm
  • Archival Ink Jet Black
  • Distress Mini Ink Pads: faded jeans, salty ocean, tumbled glass
  • Derwent – Inktense Pencils: Iris Blue, Deep Blue, Cadmium Yellow,Cadmium Orange, Hot Red,
  • Stampers Anonymous :Tim Holtz Mini Bird Crazy and Things stamp set
  • Concord & 9th Perfectly Penned stamp set
  • Avery Elle – Tags for all – die set (happy birthday)

  • Waterbrush
  • Mini blending tool

Love you with all my heart!

Hello my crafty friends!

I’m back with a new project and I can’t hide my excitement! Today I would like to share with you a card I made using my watercolors and some ‘Create a Smile’ products that I had purchased some time ago and I was over the moon to receive a few hours ago! These products are NOT part of a new release …but I just got them so to me they are brand new and I feel like a kid in a candy store!

Since I was going to use these products I decided to join the company’s challenge which this month calls for LETTERS. To meet the theme I used my sentiment stamp set as my focal point. πŸ™‚

Anyway, here is a photo of my new card and I hope you will like it as much as I do! I had an absolute blast creating it and I would really suggest you try this technique as it is really easy and gives beautiful results! Another plus for those on a budget is that you don’t really need tons of products!

Quick Instructions:

To create my card I first used a stencil which I traced with a pencil – leaving a corner of the card white so as to place my sentiment later on. I then used my Micron pen to trace the pencil. (If you use the pen straight away you may stain your stencil. Also if you don’t have a waterproof pen like Micron pen, just skip this step and trace the pencil after you finish your coloring.) Then I decided which colors I wanted to use and I placed them randomly in the squares. (I prefer to water lightly each square before I apply the color so as not to get harsh lines ). When I finished coloring my background I let it dry for a bit and then I stamped the word ‘love’ with Versamark ink and heat embossed it using black embossing powder. Then I stamped the rest of the sentiment in Black Archival ink. I traced the word ‘love’ with Wink of Stella just to add some sparkle and hide any imperfections. Last but not least I made a few splatters with black watercolor and adhered my panel on my card using double sided tape. All done!

Supplies used:

  • Kraft Cardstock paper – white
  • Create a Smile- Boxes stencil
  • Create a Smile – This must be love stamp set
  • Archival Ink Jet Black
  • Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolors: No63, no64, no56, no57,no 61, no 53, no 38, no 138, no 20
  • Versamark Ink
  • Wow! Primary Ebony Regular embossing powder
  • Heat tool
  • Paper trimmer
  • Waterbrush
  • Pigma Micron 05 – black
  • ZIG- Wink of Stella clear glitter brush pen
  • Double sided tape
  • Pencil

Happy birthday to you!

Hello everyone!

Hope you are having a nice Friday!I’m off work today, but the weather is not great so I’ve decided to spend some time crafting! Browsing through some of my favorite blogs I used their challenges as an inspiration for my project. Looking at all the amazing projects that the DT members create always helps me get inspired! So I came up with the following idea.Hope you like it!

Quick Instructions:

To make this card, I used The Crafters Workshop-Mini Well Rounded stencil and Distress inks to create the background using the colors needed for the MFT Challenge. Then I stamped my image using Newton’s Christmas Cuddles (by Newtons Nook Designs) on a white cardstock. I colored the images with Inktense pencils and Copis. I used a black Sharpie to outline them and a black gel pen to trace the lines. Then I die cut the sentiment out of black cardstock and I also cut a stripe of black cardstock to use as a divider between my upper and lower panel. Once everything was ready I adhered all the pieces on my card and used Wink of Stella (on some of the presents and on the sentiment) and a white gel pen to add some interest. And…my card was done! πŸ™‚

Supplies used:

  • Kraft Cardstock paper – white
  • The Works -Black craft card 200gsm
  • Archival Ink Jet Black
  • Distress Mini Ink Pads: tumbled glass, salty ocean, shaded lilac, picked respberry

My favorite story!

Hello my friends!

It’s Kleri here and today I would like to share with you a little card I made inspired by some challenges and a super cute stamp set by My Favorite Things called Our Story. I have to admit I fell in love instantly with this stamp set as soon as it came out and I was after it for months until I managed to get hold of it! Being a bookworm myself I can’t help thinking that it is simply adorable! Don’t you agree?

Quick Instructions:

To make this card, I stamped all the images on a spare cardstock and colored them using Copic markers. I then used my brown markers to create a flooring effect on my panel. I die cut a frame using 2 different sizes of the rectangular nested dies and adhered it with glue where I wanted my scene to be. Then I fussy cut the images and I used double sided tape to adhere them on my panel. Last but not least, I heat embossed the sentiment on black cardstock and doodled the stitching with white gel pen. When that was all dry I put it on my panel using double sided tape. All done!Easy!

Supplies used:

  • Kraft Cardstock paper – white
  • The Works -Black craft card 200gsm
  • Archival Ink Jet Black
  • Copic markers: E00, E11, E51, E35, E49, E57, B12, B95, B97, YG03, YG17, YG67, C1,C3, C5, C7,

Imagination!

Hello everyone!

It’s Kleri here and I would like to share with you a new tag that I have just created! Yesterday I had a happy mail…I just got a fabulous Penny Black stamp and I am over the moon! “Demure” is not a new stamp design…however I just got it and so to me it is new and I am all excited! Here is my little tag…and if you get inspired don’t forget to create something!Let’s use our imagination! πŸ™‚

Quick Instructions:

To create this tag, I stamped the flower and colored it using Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors. Then I watercolored the background using the same watercolors.(I cut a small part of the bottom of the tag which I later inked and used to stamp the sentiment). Next I stamped the text on the background and inked the edges with Distress ink. I used a blending tool to apply Vintage photo over the whole background as well and I splashed some drops of water to create an aged effect. I used double sided tape to adhere the sentiment on the tag and I punched a hole on the tag to tie some twine. And my tag was done!

Supplies used:

  • Kraft Cardstock paper – white
  • Archival Ink Jet Black
  • Kuretake Gansai Tambi: No 44, No 62
  • Distress mini ink cubes: Black soot, Vintage photo, Walnut stain
  • Penny Black: Demure stamp
  • BoBunny: It’s written stamp set
  • Concord & 9th Perfectly Penned stamp set

I adhered the sentiment with double sided tape and the owl with double sided foam tape to give it some extra dimension. And the card was ready!

Supplies used:

  • Kraft Cardstock paper – white
  • The Works -Black craft card 200gsm
  • Archival Ink Jet Black
