I have an idea!

Hello my friends!

Hope you are having a lovely weekend! Personally I feel drained… after a late and an early shift at work I just want to sit an do nothing!lol… But out of the blue (it happens very often to me!) I had that idea… that it might be cool to to make tags for books I read or I have read and I want to remember…this way I have a visual reminder of them but I could also use the back of the tag to write a little something about them! Isn’t it a good idea?!

Just because I wanted to use this Dylusions stamp that I haven’t used for a while and I wanted to enter some challenges…I decided to combine a few themes. As a result I created this tag about “the Girl who played with Fire” (by Stieg Larsson). Hope you like it! (By the way, I believe the book is better than the movie!)

Quick Instructions:

To begin with I cut a tag out of white cardstock and dragged it over wet distress inks (heat and repeat a few times) to achieve the blended watercolored background look. Once my tag was totally dried I used distress inks over some stencils to create more depth and add some stamping for more interest. I added the female figure which I colored with ZIGs and glitter pens and then I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment. To finish off my bookmark/tag I inked the edges and punched a hole which I decorated with twine! All done!

Supplies used:

  • Kraft Cardstock paper โ€“ white
  • Dylusions – Mini couture stamp set
  • BoBunny: Itโ€™s written stamp set
  • MFT – Our story stamp set
  • Stampers Anonymous โ€“ Tim Holtz : Schoolhouse THS011 stencil
  • Stampers anonymous – Mini stencil set 9
  • Archival Ink Jet Black
  • ZIG clean color real brush: Purple, Light violet,Persian blue
  • Distress mini ink cubes: Festive berries,Seedless preserves,Salty ocean, Spun sugar
  • Versamark Ink
  • Wow! Primary Ebony Regular embossing powder
  • Heat tool
  • Ranger Mini Blending tool
  • Blue glitter pen
  • Purple glitter pen
  • Paper trimmer
  • Waterbrush
  • Hole puncher
  • Twine

Let’s meet Clyde!

Hello my friends!

Today I want to share with you a very simple card…but sooo cute! When I saw this adorable dragon that Jodie has drawn for Bugaboo stamps…I just fell in love! Isn’t he super sweet?! His name is Clyde (if you are interested in buying the stamp).

If you have visited my blog before you may know that I often tend to create simple cardsย  but I struggle to leave loads of white space… however I really wanted to join the Less is More challenge… so I resisted the temptation to add abit of “something” in the background and kept my design minimalistic! I let Clyde do the show! ๐Ÿ™‚

Quick Instructions:

To make this card I traced the image on white cardstock cause I wanted to use my Copics. Once I colored the image I fussy cut it and then I started working on the rest of my card. I cut a stripe of black cardstock and heat embossed the sentiment. Then I draw lines around my cardbase to create some sort of border. I stuck the black stripe of paper on my card base using double sided tape. Since the card is really simple I decided to adhere my image using double sided foam tape to make it pop and create some dimension. To finish off my card I drew a few clouds of smoke to add a fun element. Hope you like it!

Supplies used:

  • Kraft Cardstock paper โ€“ white
  • The Works -Black craft card 200gsm
  • Bugaboo stamps – Clyde (digital stamp)
  • Simon Says Stamp – Cicle Sayings stamp set
  • Copics:ย  YG03, YG17, YG67, C3, C5
  • Sakura – Pigma Micron pen- black 0.5
  • Versamark Ink
  • Wow! Opaque Bright White Regular embossing powder
  • Heat tool
  • Paper trimmer
  • Ruler
  • Double sided tape
  • Double sided foam tape
  • Scissors

A beautiful wedding day!

Hello everybody!

I don’t know about you but personally when it comes to wedding cards I have to admit that I always think of the classic elegant style of cards. Well today, I thought to create something totally different! A fun wedding card! Lawn Fawn is well known for their cute images…so I decided to use the adorable “Bicycle built for you” stamp set. Only problem was …I wanted my couple in a car! To solve the problem I used Google! I searched for cabriolet cars and sketched one as well as I could…I’m not great at drawing but I am happy with the result and I actually enjoyed the process! ๐Ÿ™‚

Now if you want to create something similar but you don’t feel confident about drawing the car, you can try to find a suitable image (resize it before you save it if needed) and then trace it on your paper before you stamp your images. Problem sorted!

Quick Instructions:

To make this card, I sketched the car on white cardstock and then masked it and stamped the images. I colored everything using watercolors. I stamped the sentiment with Archival Ink and the little hearts with Hero Arts Red Royal ink. On a stripe of cardstock I stamped the washi tape design (you can do it directly on your card base but I don’t have a stamping platform and I was afraid in case my stamping wasn’t straight and crispy. Also the separate stripe of cardstock adds more dimension).ย  Then I adhered everything down using double sided tape. Easy and fun!

Supplies used:

  • Kraft Cardstock paper โ€“ white
  • Lawn Fawn โ€“ Bicycle built for you stamp set
  • My Favorite Things- Washi Patterns stamp set
  • ZIG clean color real brush: Flesh colour, Dark gray
  • Kuretake Gansai Tambi: No 32, No20, No 139
  • Tombow Dual Brush Marker โ€“ N25 (Black)
  • Ranger- Archival Jet Black Ink
  • Hero Arts โ€“ Red Royal
  • Paper trimmer
  • Waterbrush
  • Stamping block
  • Double sided tape
  • Pen & eraser

Blue, teal & yellow!

Hello my crafty friends!

Today I would like to share with you a card I made using the Altenew – Bamboo Rose stamp set. It’s a great floral set ! What I like the most about it is that it is very versatile because it consists of many small stamps that can be combined in several different ways. For the purpose of this card, I wanted to keep it CAS in order to emphasize the sentiment, so I kept the design quite basic. Hope you like it!

Quick Instructions:

To begin with, I drew a thin line where I wanted the divider section to be and I masked off the bottom part. I stamped the flowers and colored them with watercolors. Then I adhered the stripe of paper that I had leftover from another project on the line that I drew earlier. I added some splatters on the top part and then I stamped the sentiment. To finish off my card, I stuck the panel on a black cardstock to help it stand out and this can be adhered on a card base ready to hand in or send!

Supplies used:

  • Kraft Cardstock paper โ€“ white
  • The Works -Black craft card 200gsm
  • Creations Design Pad โ€“ Urban Style patterned paper (leftover stripe of paper)
  • Altenew – Bamboo Rose stamp set
  • Ranger – Archival Ink Jet Black
  • Kuretake Gansai Tambi: No 67, No40, No43, No50
  • Paper trimmer
  • Waterbrush
  • Glue pen
  • Double sided tape

I used this card to take part in the following challenges. If you want to join the fun just click on the links below to visit these blogs. ๐Ÿ™‚

Pierrot Sprite – With sympathy!

Hello my friends!

As I was browsing through my stamps for another project today, I came across this adorable Pierrot Sprite (by Aurora Wings)! I know he is a bit sad, but I really think he is super cute and touches my heart every time! That makes him perfect for sorry and sympathy cards in my opinion. So…I decided to make a card to show him some love! ๐Ÿ™‚

Quick Instructions:

For this cardI wanted a soft watercolor look. Since this is a digital stamp I decided to follow a slightly different approach. I printed the image out on normal paper and then I traced it on a white cardstock (which I had die cut to look wavy) to avoid having the strong printed outline. I colored him using ZIGs and Gansai Tambi watercolors. I found a very dark gray patterned paper that looks like leather (doesn’t show very well in the photo) and cut it down to the right size. From the leftovers I die cut the sentiment and kept all the tiny pieces (to use for an inlaid technique on another card). Meanwhile my image dried completely so I placed the sentiment die where I wanted it and passed the panel through the die cutting machine. Again I kept all the pieces. I stuck the painted panel onto the patterned paper with double sided tape (make sure you have tape under the sentiment gaps too, it makes sticking the pieces down ALOT faster). Then I adhered the die cuts in the gaps. And to finish off my card I stuck the whole thing on a white card base. Job done!

Supplies used:

  • 100gsm printer paper (to print the image)
  • Kraft Cardstock paper โ€“ white
  • Creations Design Pad โ€“ Urban Style patterned paper
  • Aurora Wings โ€“ Pierrot Sprite digi stamp
  • Avery Elle โ€“ With sympathy die set
  • ZIG clean color real brush: Flesh colour
  • Kuretake Gansai Tambi: No 20, No35, No52, No38
  • Sizzix Big Shot Machine
  • Paper trimmer
  • Waterbrush

  • Double sided tape

Dance in the rain!

Hello my crafty friends!

One of the things I enjoy doing while not crafting is reading books! I used to be a proper bookworm, however it’s been some years now that I don’t read as much. I haven’t found a book that I can’t put down. (Feel free to suggest some if you have any in mind!)…Anyway, I always used to like special bookmarks, especially those with quotes! So this time I decided to share with you one I’ve just made! It’s simple, but I think it’s super cute! Don’t you think? ๐Ÿ™‚

Quick Instructions:

This bookmark was really simple to make. I used Distress inks to create the sky (and splashed some water to create the watercolor effect) and Copics to color the rain puddle. Then I used a white gel pen to add the raindrops. I stamped the bird on white cardstock and I used Tombow markers to color it. I adhered it on the bookmark with double sided tape. I used a fineliner to outline the image and write the sentiment. The two fonts I used for the sentiment are from an old set of rulers that have alphabet stencils. To finish my bookmark off I punched a hole and used some twine (just so it is still visible from the top of the book).Hope you like it!

Supplies used:

  • Kraft Cardstock paper โ€“ white
  • Paper smooches :Chubby Chums stamp set
  • Archival Ink Jet Black
  • Tombow Dual Brush Pen: 055 Process yellow. 985 Chrome yellow
  • Ranger โ€“ Mini Distress Ink pads: Tumbled glass, Faded jeans
  • Copics:ย  B02, B05,B12
  • Ranger โ€“ Mini Ink Blending tool
  • Alphabet stencil rulers (I think they are Helix, but not totally sure)
  • White gel pen
  • Black fineliner
  • Watercolor brush
  • Double sided tape
  • Hole puncher
  • Twine

With this little bookmark I entered the challenges listed below. I recommend you visit these amazing blogs and have a look at the stunning projects that these DTs have created!

Naturally amazing!

Hello my friends!

Today I’m super excited! I don’t know if anyone else does that but…(when I can afford it) I buy myself a birthday present as well! And…alright my birthday is not until tomorrow…but the parcel arrived today! So I thought to start celebrating early…lol! Well…I bought this super handy MFT stamp set called ‘Washi Patterns’ that is currently on discount at ‘Dies to die for’. And I have to say I feel really good about this purchase! At first I was worried that with the stamps being small I may struggle to use them in a large area… but it is not as hard as I thought it would be. (Mind, I don’t have a stamping platform yet so I have to try and align the pattern using my stamping block). It takes a bit of practice but it is certainly doable and …I love how many different things you can do with these stamps. I’m pretty sure I’ll be using this stamp set alot! I love it when I get stamps that I can use again and again! Having said that…for today’s card I used another of my favorite stamp sets: ‘My Favorite Nut’ by Neat & Tangled. It’s so super cute!

(Disclaimer: Here I would like to add that I am not affiliated with any art store or company, I just like to let people know when there is a good offer I am aware of and also I like to share my good experience with products I buy in case someone else is thinking about buying them too.)

Quick Instructions:

To start off my card I used Hero Arts- Lime Green ink and the ‘Washi Patterns’ to create my border.I stamped the image on white cardstock and colored it using ZIG markers and Inktense pencils. I let it dry completely. Meanwhile I cut down a piece of white cardstock to the required size and adhered it on my card base. I used some blue watercolor to create a background for my image…nothing fancy…just a splash of watercolor but it helps the image pop. While this was drying I heat embossed the sentiment on black cardstock and fussy cut it leaving a thin border around it. I adhered everything down and then stamped the rest of the sentiment directly on my card. All done! Hope you like it!

Supplies used:

  • Kraft Cardstock paper โ€“ white
  • The Works -Black craft card 200gsm
  • Neat and Tangled โ€“ My favorite nut stamp set
  • WPlus9 โ€“ That is all stamp set
  • My Favorite Things- Washi Patterns stamp set

  • Hero Arts โ€“ Lime Green
  • Versamark Ink

Impossible until it’s done!

Hello everyone!

Today while I was browsing throung Pinterest I came across this beautiful quote! I found it really inspirational and I decided to use the layout of the Altenew Sketch Challenge to create a page for my journal! Hope you like it!

I wanted to keep the page fairly simple so all the attention would be drawn on the sentiment and the flowers. I used Altenew Bamboo Rose to stamp the flowers and I colored everything with Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors. I printed the sentiment out and stuck it on a black paper. I stamped the word BELIEVE on black cardstock using white ink. (The result wasn’t very crisp so I went over the letters with acrylic paint as well. That didn’t work great either! So I used a white Uni-Posca marker too!). I added a few splatters and inked the edges of my page using distress black ink. Job done!

Supplies used:

  • A5 Sketch Pad
  • Printed sentimentย  from: https://gr.pinterest.com/pin/421438477606929762/
  • Altenew – Bamboo Rose stamp set
  • Simon Says Stamp – Secret garden stamp set
  • Black paper
  • Ranger – Archival Ink Jet Black
  • Distress Ink Pads: Black soot
  • Hero Arts – Unicorn
  • Kuretake Gansai Tambi : No 20,34, 40,63
  • Acrylic paint: white

  • Black marker

With this page I decided to enter the some challenges. You can see a list of them below. Feel free to have a look. There are loads of amazing projects to get inspired by and many great prizes to be won! ๐Ÿ™‚

Magical birthday!

Hello everyone!

As I was tidying my stamps today, I came across the adorable “Simon Says Stamp-Secret Garden” stamp set! And I couldn’t think of a more appropriate set to create a card for the 8th birthday of Simon Says Stamp Wednesdayย  Challenge Blog! So this birthday card is for them! So…Happy Birthday Simon and a big thank you from me for all you offer to the crafting society!

Quick Instructions:

I diecut two wavy stripes for the top and bottom of my card. Then I lightly marked the inbetween space on my card panel and applied Distress ink with a mini blending tool. I splattered some water to create an interesting effect. When it was totally dry I adhered the two wavy stripes. Next I stamped the images on white cardstock and colored them with Copics. I then fussy cut them and adhered them on my card. Last I diecut the sentiment and placed it in the right place. All done!

Supplies used:
