Newton strikes again!

Hello my friends!

Hope you are all having a great day!

Lately I got a bit excited with all the special offers and discounts and new releases…and I kind of spent more than I was supposed to! (oops!) So …to justify my shopping spree I decided to challenge myself! The rule is …I have to create at least one card for every pound I spent on each stamp set!…Crazy?Well..it maybe fun, right?  That includes new as well as old products. And I thought it maybe a good idea because it will give me an indication of what I enjoy using the most as well!

So…for today…I picked Newton’s Nook Christmas cuddles. A stamp set I got some time ago…but I really adore because it is super cute and can be used for loads of different occasions. This time I created a birthday cards cause I’m kind of running low on them and I need a few for next month! Hope you like it! 🙂

Quick Instructions:

I used Distress Oxides and a blending tool to create the orange/ yellow panel. I stamped the two borders and I fussy cut them. Then I lightly marked in pencil where these pieces would be placed on my main panel. I stamped the focal point and masked it off. I used Broken China Distress Oxide to color the background and then I splashed some water to add more interest. I unmasked the images and colored them with Copics (I was meant to use watercolors but after stamping with Memento ink that wasn’t a good idea!). I used a fineliner to add details. Then I stamped the banner and the sentiment on my top panel and colored it with Copics. (Not sure if this was a good idea for my markers as I have read that you are not meant to use them over other mediums but …oh well!My markers seem OK but keep in mind that you run a risk if you try it!). I added some Wink of Stella over the banner for extra attention! Last I adhered everything down and called it done!

Supplies used:

  • Kraft Cardstock paper – white
  • Newton’s Nook Designs: Newton’s Christmas Cuddles stamp set
  • MFT – Up in the Air stamp set
  • Sunny Studio: Sunny Borders stamp set
  • Tsukineko -Memento Tuxedo Black Ink

New home!

Hello my friends!

Hope you are having a nice relaxing day! Today I have a “New Home” card to share with you! I had this gorgeous stamp set from Neat & Tangled on my desk and as I was looking at these adorable squirrels I thought that they would be appropriate for Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! The theme is “Home sweet home” and they look so cozy and at home, don’t you agree?

Quick Instructions:

I started my card by applying Dylusions Dirty Martini all over my base using a baby wipe. Next I cut a piece of black cardstock to the shape you see in the photo. I used it as a guide to mask off the sides of my green panel and then I used my stamp platform to create the background using a border die. While this was drying I stamped the image on white cardstock and colored it with watercolors and Inktense pencils. I let it aside to dry and I stamped the banner and the sentiment on white cardstock. I colored it using Copics. Once this was done, I fussy cut everything and adhered all the elements on my card. Easy and fun!

Supplies used:

  • Kraft Cardstock paper – white
  • The Works -Black craft card 200gsm
  • Neat & Tangled: My Favorite Nut stamp set
  • Sunny Studio: Sunny Borders stamp set
  • Concord & 9th: Perfectly penned stamp set

Happy birthday in orange and pink!

Hello everyone!

Have a fantastic weekend! Today I decided to combine products from many different companies…because stretching our supplies is always good! So I chose to play with MFT, Hero Arts, Create a Smile, Lindy’s Stamp Gang and Ranger Distress Oxides! And I admit I had great fun! Hope you enjoy the outcome!

Quick Instructions:

I started off by applying Distress Oxides through my stencil. Then I stamped the pig on white cardstock using Hero Arts Charcoal ink and I watercolored it with watered-down Tombow markers and Lindy’s magicals. While I had the magicals out I decided to make a wash on white cardstock using the same pink I painted the cake with. Once the paper dried I die cut a few hearts to use as embellishment. Then I cut out a black and a white diagonal stripe of cardstock paper. Once my image was totally dry I decided to heat emboss it to make it more interesting, for this I used Versamark ink and clear embossing powder. Then I stamped the sentiment on the white stripe using Hero Arts Ultra Pink ink and then I heat embossed it same way I did with the pig. To finish off my card I adhered everything down using double sided tape and glossy accents. Done!

Supplies used:

  • Kraft Cardstock paper – white
  • The Works -Black craft card 200gsm
  • MFT – Hog Heaven stamp set
  • MFT – Up in the Air stamp set
  • Create a smile – Boxes stencil
  • Hero Arts inks: Charcoal, Ultra Pink
  • Tim Holtz – Distress Oxides: Worn Lipstick, Spiced Marmalade
  • Tombow dual brush marker – Black No 45, No 65
  • Lindy’s Stamp Gang magical: Pretty in pink
  • Versamark Ink
  • Clear embossing powder
  • Heat tool
  • Sizzix Big Shot Machine
  • Nested Hearts Dies (unbranded)
  • Mini Ink Blending tool
  • Paper trimmer

I splashed a few drops of water to make the background more interesting. After that, I took all the masks off and I colored the images using Copic markers. Next I die cut the sentiment out of black cardstock and adhered it on the panel using glossy accents. To finish off my card I added some Wink of Stella over the die cut to cover up any excess glue. And I called it done!

Hugs!

Hello everyone!

Thank you for stopping by! Today I would like to share with you a super cute card I made using “My Favorite Nut” stamp set by Neat & Tangled. I totally adore this set because it is REALLY versatile! The little stamps can be used as fillers in various types of cards and the little critters can be used to create cards for any occasion! Isn’t this great?! For today, I made a simple “Hugs” card! Who doesn’t like hugs?! 🙂 I had create fun making it, hope you enjoy it as well!

DISCLAIMER: I am not affiliated with any company and whatever I say about any products is my true and honest opinion. Ioften check other people’s reviews/opinions about certain products before I decide to buy something, so I thought to do the same for other people who might consider buying the products I have used. 🙂

Quick Instructions:

I started off by stamping the images on white cardstock. I masked the right one out in order to make them look like they are hugging each other. I colored them using Copic markers and then I fussy cut them leaving some white space all around them. Next, I used Tim Holtz Mini Birch Tree stencil, Oxides and a blending tool to create the background. I die cut the word HUGS out of black cardstock and decided to use the negative space on this card. I then adhered everything on my card panel. For the die cut I used glue and for my image I used double sided foam tape to give it some dimension. I watercolored the letters using Distress ink and that finished off my card!Easy!

Supplies used:

  • Kraft Cardstock paper – white
  • The Works -Black craft card 200gsm
  • Neat & Tangled: My Favorite Nut stamp set
  • Tim Holtz – Mini Stencil Set 21
  • Tsukineko -Memento Tuxedo Black Ink

Quick instructions:

To start with, I created the background using Distress Oxide Inks and a blending tool. I splashed a bit of water to allow the inks to react and dried it. Then I cut the panel in an angle using my paper trimmer. I divided it into 4 sections. For this card I only used the top and bottom one.I cut a stripe of black cardstock in the size of one of the stripes I cut earlier and heat embossed my sentiment using Oxide ink and clear embossing powder. I also die cut the word HUGS out of black cardstock and kept it aside. I stamped the puppy on white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black (copic safe) and colored the image using Copic markers. I fussy cut it and traced it with a black marker. Then I adhered everything down using double sided tape for the panels and glossy accents for the little pieces. To finish my card off I added glossy accents on the dog’s collar. All done!

Congratulations with Create a Smile!

Hello my friends!

Have a nice Monday! Today I decided that it was about time to go through my stash and pick an old stamp to play with! Cause this is what most of us do…buy new art toys, play with them for a while and then put them in a basket/drawer or whatever and forget them for a long time!..I need to find a way to stop doing that! So I try to remind myself every so often to look through my stamp container and use older items! At the end of the day I love them all or I wouldn’t have bought them!…So today’s pick was “Botanical love” by Create a Smile!

Here is the card I have created. Hope you like it and got inspired to go through your stash and play with your old toys! 🙂

Quick Instructions:

I stamped the flowers on white cardstock using Archival ink as I knew I was going to use watercolors and I needed a waterproof ink. Then I colored them with Kuretake Gansai Tambi and traced them with a black gel pen. To add a little bit of shimmer I went through the big flowers with Wink of Stella. I added some splatters to break the blank space and I die cut the sentiment out of black cardstock. I stuck it on my panel using a glue pen and once dry I traced it with Wink of Stella. This helps covering up any leftovers of glue. Next I stuck my panel on a black cardstock and adhered everything on a 5×7 card base. To complete my card I used a patterned ruler to draw a wavy frame around my card and colored it black and white with a gel pen and a black marker. Job done!

Supplies used:

  • Kraft Cardstock paper – white
  • The Works -Black craft card 200gsm
  • Create a Smile – Botanical Love stamp set
  • Archival Ink Jet Black
  • Kuretake Gansai Tambi: No 34, No51, No 139,No 37, No 50
  • ZIG- Wink of Stella clear glitter brush pen
  • Black fineliner
  • White gel pen
  • Tombow dual brush marker – Black No 15
  • Sizzix Big Shot Machine
  • Congratulations die (unknown brand -sorry)
  • Paper trimmer

Congratulations card!

Hello my friends!

Hope you are having a nice day! Here it’s sunny and warm and I’m off work today,so I totally enjoy it! 🙂 And since I’m having some spare time, among other things, I decided to make a card for a colleague who got a job elsewhere and she is leaving soon. Hope you like it!

Quick instructions:

I started off by creating a cloud template which I then used to apply my distress inks to make the background. Next I stamped the hot air balloon on white cardstock and colored it with Copics. I traced it with a black fineliner and I applied Clear glitter Wink of Stella over the red parts. Then I left it aside to dry completely before I fussy cut it. Meanwhile I diecut  a wavy panel out of black cardstock and I also diecut the sentiment out of it. I used the negative space on my card and kept the actual word for another card.To avoid having to stick all the tiny pieces back in place for the word to look complete, I temporarily placed the word in the negative space and traced the gaps with a black fineliner, then I filled them in and you really have to look hard to be able to tell that the additions are not the original diecut leftovers! 🙂 To finish off my card I stuck everything down using double sided tape and stamped a customised sentiment on the inside of my card.

Supplies used:

  • Kraft Cardstock paper – white
  • The Works -Black craft card 200gsm
  • Homemade cloud template
  • Creative stamping – Up in the air stamp set
  • Archival Ink Jet Black
  • Tim Holtz – Distress mini ink pads: Faded jeans
  • Copics:  C1,C3, R22,R27,R29,R59, E25,E37,E11,E51
  • ZIG- Wink of Stella clear glitter brush pen
  • Black fineliner
  • Sizzix Big Shot Machine
  • Congratulations die (unknown brand -sorry)
  • Mini Ink Blending tool
  • Paper trimmer
  • Double sided tape
  • Scissors
