Summertime happiness!

Hello my friends!

I’ve been a bit busy and tired lately but I really wanted to play with my art supplies. So I grabbed a few stamp sets and tried to create a nice summery scene to cheer me up! It didn’t really turn out the way I had it in my head…but oh well…at least it’s happy!

Now if you think…why did you post it if you are not totally happy with it?…the answer is simple! I decided to share it with you because I believe that something doesn’t have to be perfect to be inspiring! And it is the journey that counts…so my message to you is “Embrace the imperfections and see the beauty in everything! Stay positive…cause a negative thinking will never give you a positive life!”

To make this card I used Distress inks and a cloud stencil to create the background. I stamped the bunny and life ring in Memento ink and colored them using Copics. Then for the little hut I thought to use a different technique so I stamped it using Tombow markers and colored it using both Tombows and Copics. For the sentiment banner I used Distressed ink to color the banner since I didn’t have any pink color paper and then I white heat embossed the sentiment. To finish off my card I used some washi tape to add some interest to one end and then adhered everything down. Easy and fun!

Supplies used:

  • Kraft Cardstock paper – white
  • Memento Tuxedo Black ink
  • Tombow – ABT Dual Brush Pen: 879,899 (browns)
  • Distress mini ink pad: Tumbled glass,Picked raspberry
  • Copics: C1,C3,C5,C7,E25,E35,E57,YR68,YR16,Y38,  Y11,YG03,RV09,RV04,RV02,R20
  • Mini ink blending tool
  • Your Next Stamp – Whatnot sentiments four
  • MFT – Snuggle bunnies
  • Sweet Dixie – Beach huts
  • Homemade cloud stencil/mask
  • Versamark Ink
  • Wow! Opaque Bright White Regular embossing powder
  • Heat tool
  • Paper trimmer
  • Double sided tape
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Create a smile -Yellow Ovals washi tape
  • Inked scrap paper

Red White & Blue 2017

Hello my crafty friends!

Those of you that have been around for a while you may know already that red and blue is a combination I am not too keen on! However  it’s the time of the year that this color combo is really popular and most challenge blogs have related themes.Well…I may not particularly enjoy this theme…but I always enjoy a good challenge! So…here is my red, white and blue card!….and no…you don’t necessarily have to be from the USA to get into the patriotic feeling. You just need to be open-minded enough to see that it’s a celebration about freedom, braveness and the ability to care and love others more than your own self! So we all have a good reason to celebrate!

Supplies used:

  • Kraft Cardstock paper – white
  • Cheap fluid acrylic paints: red, blue, white
  • Hero Arts Dye Inks: Navy, Unicorn
  • IndigoBlu: Script A6 stamp

  • Unbranded – Nested Star dies
  • Sizzix Big Shot Machine
  • Paper trimmer

Here for you – Stamping with Markers!

Hello my friends!

Today I wanted to make a nice and simple card, something with fresh but light colors! Inspired by this week’s Muse challenge, I also decided that I wanted to use some butterflies…And when I came across this fantastic Indigoblu script stamp I knew exactly what I wanted to do! Without further ado, here is my idea put on paper!Hope you like it!

Quick Instructions:

I started by applying Distress ink through the stencil with my mini blending tool. Then I used my Tombow markers on the script stamp and stamped the text to complete my background. On a separate piece of cardstock I stamped the butterflies with Archival Jet Black ink and colored them with the same Tombow markers – I scribbled the color on a stamping tool and picked it up with a brush. While my butterflies were drying, I stamped the sentiment on black cardstock and white heat embossed it. I cut the sentiment to size and fussy cut the butterflies. Then I adhered everything on my card. Simple and nice! 🙂

Supplies used:

  • Kraft Cardstock paper – white
  • The Works -Black craft card 200gsm
  • Archival Ink Jet Black
  • Tombow – ABT Dual Brush Pen: 346 (dark green), 535 (blue)
  • Distress mini ink pad: Tumbled glass
  • Mini ink blending tool
  • Altenew : Bamboo Rose stamp set
  • IndigoBlu: Script A6 stamp
  • Tim Holtz – Layering stencil-  Splatters
  • Versamark Ink
  • Wow! Opaque Bright White Regular embossing powder
  • Heat tool
  • Paper trimmer
  • Waterbrush
  • Double sided tape
  • Double sided foam tape
  • Scissors
