Together forever and always!

Hello my friends!

Today I would like to start with an announcement! Up to this day I am NOT affiliated with any company and I don’t have any particular reason to promote any company…but I do like to speak my opinion about things I have purchashed and used cause I find it helpful when people share their experience about products I consider buying. Also I like passing information about special offers or sales because I do realise that, like me, there are many people out there that have to spend on a budget and we all feel happy when we find a bargain, don’t we?

So…to get to the point! CREATE A SMILE provides WORLDWIDE FREE SHIPPING on all orders until April 17th 2017 !!! I personally have bought some stamps and stencils from them and I have been really happy with the products and the service. Here is a link to their shop if you wish to have a look! https://www.createasmilestamps.com/

Also CULT PENS (https://www.cultpens.com/) have a 30% OFF COPICs offer if anyone is interested.

Now, to today’s project! I wanted to have a coffee relaxing and playing with my Distress inks avoiding to cause a mess as much as possible! As a result I created this card!Hope you enjoy it!

Quick Instructions:

This card was really easy and fun to make. I first used my wave dies to cut 2 stripes of white cardstock for my sentiment. I stamped and heat embossed the word forever and then stamped the rest of the sentiment in Archival Jet Black ink. Next I used these stripes as a guide to lightly mark the area that I needed to color (this step is optional but it saves you time and ink). Then I placed the stencil on top of my card panel and secured it with masking tape. I used a mini ink blending tool to apply the Distress inks through the stencil. When I finished I carefully removed the stencil and splashed a few drops of water to add more interest to the background. I dabbed the water off with a tissue paper and then adhered the stripes with the sentiment on my panel using double sided tape. All done!

Supplies used:

  • Create a smile – Swirly stencil
  • Create a smile – This must be love stamp set
  • Concord and 9th – Perfectly Penned stampset
  • Kraft Cardstock paper – white
  • Distress Mini Ink Pads: Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry, Salty Ocean
  • Ranger Archival Ink Jet Black
  • Ranger -Mini blending tool
  • Versamark Ink
  • Wow! Primary Ebony Regular embossing powder
  • Heat tool
  • Sizzix Big Shot Machine
  • Wavy dies (unbranded)
  • Paper trimmer
  • Double sided tape

With this card I entered the following challenges. If you are looking for inspiration, then you really need to check these blogs out. They are seriously amazing!

Coffee is in the air!

Hello my crafty friends!

Today I am super excited to play with Newton’s Nook – Newton loves coffee stamp set! I’m a big fan of coffee and this stamp set is one of my favorite! It’s simply irresistably super cute!!!

This project was inspired by 2017 Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop (if you haven’t heard about it I have a link below in the “Challenges” section). But -like I usually do- I enjoy combining challenge themes so I decided to use the color palette of MFT Color Challenge and the sketch theme of Your Next Stamp Challenge! And here what I came up with!

Quick Instructions:

To create this card I stamped my image on white cardstock and colored it with Distress inks. Then I fussy cut it, traced it with a black sharpie and left it aside. I I cut the different pieces of paper to meet the requirements of the sketch challenge and marked lightly on the card panel in pencil where they would be placed. Next I stamped the background images all around using Distress inks. For the cups I used 2nd generation stamping to soften the impression of the stamp. Then I created a mask of the cat and placed it on my square panel, I applied red Distress ink with a blending tool all around it to create a halo around the place where I wanted my image to be (to help it stand out from the background). I stamped the little sentiment and then inked the edges of the patterned paper and adhered both pieces on my card panel. Next I die cut the word Coffee out of black cardstock. I inked the white banner using Peacock Feathers and die cut the word Coffee again making sure to keep all the tiny pieces ! I stamped the rest of the sentiment and the cup and adhered the piece on my card panel using double sided tape (it is important to place the tape along the diecut gaps as well!). Next I placed the black word in the gaps and carefully added the tiny teal left overs to fill in the diecut gaps. Last I adhered the cat image using double sided foam tape to add abit of dimension. And that completed my card!

Supplies used:

  • Kraft Cardstock paper – white
  • The Works -Black craft card 200gsm
  • Creations Design Pad-Vintage Chic patterned paper
  • Newton’s Nook – Newton loves coffee stamp set
  • Create a smile – This must be love stamp set
  • Coffee theme die (unbranded)
  • Archival Ink Jet Black
  • Tim Holtz – Distress Mini Ink Pads: spiced marmalade, peacock feathers, candied apple, fired brick, vintage photo
  • Sizzix Big Shot Machine
  • Paper trimmer
  • Double sided tape
  • Double sided foam tape

Baby girl!

Hello my friends!

Happy Saturday! Hope you are having a great time! The weather here is really nice and I try to enjoy it before I have to go to work! However I do want to share with you a simple card I made last night inspired by a beautiful digi stamp and a few challenge themes 🙂 The image is a sprite by Aurora Wings and the layout is based of their challenge sketch. The baby girl theme was chosen due to the current Muse challenge. I thought that this cupcake sprite would be perfect to feature a newborn baby girl! They are both so sweet and beautiful!

Quick Instructions:

I diecut a circle big enough to fit my image and I cut a stripe of white cardstock to wide enough fit my sentiment. Then I cut down pieces of patterned paper which I inked all around to make them more interesting and cohesive to each other. I printed the image and colored it in Copics. Then I fussy cut it. Next I adhered everything on my panel starting from the back and working my way to the front. I then glued down the little gems and I added some Wink of Stella over the red details of my image. Last I stamped the sentiment. Since I didn’t have any relevant stampset I decided to combine other stampsets and stamp letters individually! I used a purple Tombow marker for that as a marker makes it alot easier to control what is colored to get stamped (far faster than masking things out and using ink). Once I stamped the whole sentiment I went over with a glitter pen to add interest and hide any imperfections from stamping. (Ideally I should have used a purple glitter pen but I didn’t have the right color!) And that finished off my card!

Supplies used:

  • Kraft Cardstock paper – white
  • Design Blok – Mix and Match Basic Fine Art patterned paper
  • Aurora Wings – Cupcake Sprite digi stamp
  • WPlus9 – That is all stamp set (used individual letters to write: it’s a)
  • Concord and 9th – Perfectly Penned stampset
  • Tombow Dual Brush Marker – 665 purple
  • Pink glitter pen
  • ZIG- Wink of Stella clear glitter brush pen
  • Copics: R59, R29, R22, RV 09,RV02,V01,V04,V06E35, E53,E51,E11,E00, YG17
  • Distress Mini Ink Pads: Wilted Violet, Mustard Seed
  • Sizzix Big Shot Machine
  • Circle nested dies (unbranded)
  • Paper trimmer
  • Double sided tape
  • Glue stick
  • Glue
  • Little pink flower gems (bought from the Works in tiny jars)
  • Scissors

I used this card to enter the following challenges. If you have the time, I encourage you to have a look at what these amazing ladies have created! You will definately get inspired!

Pierrot Sprite!

Hello my friends!

I don’t know if this has ever happened to you but… today I started creating a card that was meant to be a ‘sorry you are leaving’ card (for a friend for work) but ended up creating a ‘sorry for your loss’ card! Oh well…I guess it went abit darker than it was supposed to! (lol) I have to admit that I love it though as the image is really nice and grey happens to be one of my favorite colors 🙂 Hope you like it too!

Quick Instructions:

To make this card I cut a black cardstock panel almost the size of my card base. Then I cut two large pieces of patterned paper that I inked all around to make them look more cohesive. I also cut a stripe of patterned paper to use for my sentiment, I inked its edges as well. I printed and colored the image with ZIGs. Then I die cut it using a circle die. Since I didn’t have any pearls I decided to use a confetti die and die cut some circlies out of black cardstock. Once all my pieces were ready I adhered all the big parts down using double sided tape and glued down the small parts using a glue pen. Last I stamped the sentiment and that was my card done!

Supplies used:

  • 100gsm printer paper (to print the image – go abit thicker if your printer allows it and you have the paper)
  • Kraft Cardstock paper – white
  • The Works -Black craft card 200gsm
  • Creations Design Pad-Pretty pastels patterned paper
  • Creations Design Pad – Urban Style patterned paper
  • Aurora Wings – Pierrot Sprite digi stamp
  • Avery Elle – With sympathy stamp set
  • Archival Ink Jet Black
  • ZIG clean color real brush: Wine red, Carmine red, Black,Gray brown, Light gray, Dark gray
  • Sizzix Big Shot Machine
  • Circle nested dies (unbranded)
  • Confetti die (unbranded)
  • Paper trimmer

Perfect!

Hello my friends!

You know how sometimes you color something but you end up not using it in your current project and it ends up living in your “save for later” pile forever? Well…today I decided to go through my little box and I found this little cutie! So…inspired by this super cute image I created the following card!

Quick Instructions:

Well…making this card was really very easy and totally fun! The image was stamped on white cardstock and colored with Copics. I fussy cut it and kept it aside. I die cut a big rectangle and a medium-to-small circle. I then inked the circle with distress inks and stamped the sentiment and a few hearts. I lightly marked on the panel where I was going to place the rectangular diecut and used the dotty stamp to create some visual interest in the background. Next I cut a stripe of black cardstock and heat embossed my big sentiment. Once done I cut a fishtail to make it cuter. Since all my elements were ready I only had to adhere them on the panel. First the rectangle, then the banner, followed by the image and lastly the circle. And my little card was done! Hope you like it!

Supplies used:

  • Kraft Cardstock paper – white
  • The Works -Black craft card 200gsm
  • My Favorite Things – Our Story stamp set
  • WPlus9 – That is All stamp set
  • Distress mini ink cubes: Faded jeans, Salty ocean
  • Hero Arts ink cubes: Green hills, Soft pool, Cornflower
  • Copic Ciao: YG 03,YG 17,YG 67,B12, B95, B97,E11,E00,E51,E57,E35,E49,Y15

Love in Spring!

Hello everyone!

It’s been a nice sunny day today (at least most of the day) which kind of put me in a lovely Spring mood! So I decided to create a card using beautiful pastel colors that are very common for the season!

Quick Instructions:

This card was really easy and fun to make! I masked off the bottom of the panel and taped a stencil along the top part. I then smooshed the watercolors over the stencil and let the panel dry. I splattered a few drops of black watercolor to tie the top part with the sentiment (on a second thought it might have worked better if I had used black acrylic paint instead or skipped this part altogether…but oh well!). To add a tiny bit of dimension, I cut a stripe of white cardstock to match the bottom part of the panel, stamped the sentiment and adhered it to my card with double sided tape. To create a border line between the top and bottom section I decided to cut a very thin stripe of cardstock and paint it in the same pink color I had used in the top part design. I used a glue stick to stick this down. And a sweet spring card was done!

Supplies used:

  • Create a smile – Swirly stencil
  • Create a smile – This must be love stamp set
  • Kraft Cardstock paper – white
  • Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolors: No10, No34, No43, No63,     No 20
  • Ranger Archival Ink Jet Black
  • Watercolor brush
  • Paper trimmer
  • Double sided tape
  • Glue stick

With my little project, I decided to entered the following challenges. The ladies in their design teams have created fabulous projects, so if you are seeking for inspiration, you should check them out!

Love you always…

Hello my crafty friends!

Hope you are all having a wonderful Sunday! I don’t know why but I had a really bad sleep last night and I woke up way too early and tired… to beat that I decided to sit and craft! Cause nothing can make your mood and relax you more than coloring and having a cup of coffee, right?! 🙂

And, since I just got some new fantastic Bugaboo images by winning a challenge, I really couldn’t wait to try them out! For today’s card I used the ‘Dog Heart Topper’. He is sooo cute, isn’t he?

I just wanted to make clear that any coloring mistakes are entirely my fault, the blending of all the images would have been alot better if I had used marker paper, but I didn’t have any and my printer can only take up to a certain thickness of paper… Nevermind, given the situation I am happy with the result.

Quick Instructions:

To make this card, I printed out the image and colored it using ZIG clean color real brushes. I cut a piece of black cardstock to match the size of my card panel and diecut a part of its top using a wavy die. I then used that as a guide to estimate the space left for placing the flowers. I stamped the flowers a bit off the edge to create more interest. I colored the flowers using ZIGs again and I traced them with a black pen to give them more definition. Next, I heat embossed the sentiment on the black cardstock and added the washi tape parallel with the bottom of the cardstock. I then adhered the dog using double sided tape. Last I adhered the black cardstock on the white panel and that completed my card!

Supplies used:

  • Bugaboo stamps – Dog heart topper
  • Create a smile – This must be love stamp set
  • Flower stamp set (unbranded)
  • 100gsm printer paper
  • Kraft Cardstock paper – white
  • The Works -Black craft card 200gsm

  • Wavy dies (unbranded)

Flowers for mum!

Hello my friends!

Today I would like to share with you a super simple, yet very versatile card design that could serve many purposes depending on the sentiment you decide to put on it! Since mother’s day is not too far away I chose to go with ‘Happy Mother’s Day’. 🙂

Quick Instructions:

For this card, I chose to use one of my favorite Altenew stamp sets called ‘Bamboo Roses’. I stamped the flowers on one side of the panel, a bit off the edge to create more interest. Then I colored them with ZIG Clean Color Real Brush pens that blend super easily and have really nice bright colors. After that was done, I traced the images with a black Tombow dual brush pen to give them a crispier edge. I then used a Simon Says Stamp Highlight Frames die to diecut a black detailed stripe which I then adhered to the bottom of my panel. Next, I created my sentiment using the Perfectly Penned Stamp set by Concord & 9th. To finish off my card, I added some sparkle over the roses using Clear Wink of Stella. And the card was ready! So easy and fun!

Supplies used:

  • Altenew : Bamboo Rose stamp set
  • Concord & 9th: Perfectly penned stamp set
  • Kraft Cardstock paper – white
  • The Works -Black craft card 200gsm
  • Ranger – Archival Ink Jet Black
  • ZIG clean color real brush: Scarlet red, Orange, Bright Yellow, May Green, Light Green
  • Tombow Dual Brush Pen: N15
  • ZIG- Wink of Stella clear glitter brush pen
  • Simon Says Stamp – Highlight Frames die set
  • Sizzix Big Shot Machine
  • Paper trimmer
  • Glue pen

Pansy Sprite!

Hello everybody!

Today I am super excited! I have heard loads about the ZIG clean color real brushes and I was toying with the idea of getting some to try for a very long time. But like many other people out there, my budget was limited …however Amazon.co.uk is having a fantastic offer lately…so I decided to go for them now since they are almost half price!!!! And guess what???They arrived today!!!I have to admit after trying them I am over the moon with this purchase. The colors are fantastic and they really blend nicely even if you don’t have the best paper – which to me is a huge plus as quite often I don’t have the paper I would have liked to use.Anyway…to prove my point the image I have used today is printed on 100gsm printer paper (!) and colored with ZIGs and COPICs. Keep in mind that I’m still new to coloring and I have never had any art lessons, just what I read about techniques and watch on Youtube videos. (By the way, I would like to say a huge THANK YOU to all these people that make these amazing videos and take the time to share their techniques!).

Quick Instructions:

To create this card, I printed out PANSY SPRITE freebie which I got from Aurora Wings Challenge blog (Thank you for the image, it’s super cute!). I colored the skin and green  parts with Copics and the orange parts with ZIGs. I fussy cut the image and traced its outline with a black Sharpie. I doodled lines accross the whole panel with a Tombow marker. Then I die cut a circle out of a nice patterned paper. I cut a stripe of black cardstock and diecut the sentiment. (I kept the diecut for another card and used the negative space and the tiny left overs on this card). Then I die cut the sentiment again out of white cardstock this time. At this point, all that was remaining to be done was to stick everything down. I started with the negative diecut, then the white diecut sentiment, then the little black left overs. Next I adhered the image (making sure not to glue the flower down yet). Last I adhered the circle using double sided tape and I glued the flower on top of it. I cut out the excess of the circle that was sticking out of the panel…and my card was ready! 🙂

Green leaves!

Hello my crafty friends!

In honor of St.Patrick’s day on 17th March, I decided to create a thank you card. I challenged myself to use limited supplies and try to keep the design CAS. I think it turned out quite well! What do you think?

Quick Instructions:

Creating this card was pretty simple! I masked the 2 sides of the card and stamped the leaves in a way that they didn’t look too repetitive (partly masking some off to show as if they overlapped). Then I used Inktense pencils to color them, trying to vary the shades abit to create some interest. Then I went over them with my Wink of Stella pen to add some shimmer. I stamped the sentiment slightly off the center and then I traced the lines of the masking tape with a black Tombow marker. All done!

Supplies used:

  • Kraft Cardstock paper – white
  • Archival Ink Jet Black
  • Derwent – Inktense Pencils: Felt green, Apple green, Iron green, Beech green
  • Crafters Companion – Autumn Blessings stamp set
  • Paper trimmer
  • Waterbrush
  • Mini blending tool
  • Black Tombow dual brush pen
  • ZIG- Wink of Stella clear glitter brush pen
  • Masking tape
